Where are the Good Samaritans?

July 11, 2011 Dear Friends,

In the last six months the Republicans have not introduced a single jobs bill or creation plan. Instead they have voted to cut Medicare and Social Security, give billions in tax breaks to Big Oil and corporate giants, and cut unemployment aid under the guise of a "jobs" bill. My Democratic colleagues have brought job creating legislation up to vote ten times, each time the Republicans have overwhelmingly voted against them. The time for action is now. It is time for Republicans to join our efforts in rebuilding America's economy. My colleagues from The Congressional Progressive Caucus and I listened to solutions from everyday Americans through our "Speakout for Good Jobs Now!" I'd like to hear your ideas. Please join me in my District-wide telephone/online townhall on Thursday, July 14 at 5pm.
